Well, keep reading about this delicious and fruity Barefoot Peach Fruitscato Wine.  My older sister is actually the one who suggested this wine to me. I do like fruity wines, and this Barefoot Fruitscato chain has many flavors: Peach Pineapple Strawberry Blueberry Watermelon Mango  And More! I got this 2020 year bottle of wine at a Kroger grocery store for a little under $6 for a 750mL bottle. It is bottled by Barefoot Cellars in Canandaigua, New York with a 7.5% ABV.  Store Review: Barefoot Peach Moscato is a delightfully sweet wine with natural flavors of juicy, ripe peaches. This bottle comes with an easy-to-open screw cap, so no wine opener is needed. Best served chilled! Self Review: This wine is a sweet blend of rose wine with natural fruity flavors. Wine Tasting: Strawberry Moscato April 16, 2023 By: Lucy Becker One thing to know about me is that I love love love moscato wine. The sweetness draws me in, however the sugar in it makes me pay for it the next morning with massive headaches. Moscato is a style of wine made from muscat grapes. It's famous for sweet flavors of peaches and orange blossom and because it's lower in alcohol than other sparkling wines. Do you want to drink a bottle of wine but don’t want to break your bank account for a bottle? No worries! Head down to your local Kroger grocery store and pick up a Bay Bridge Strawberry Moscato for the cheap price of $3.49. Yep! That’s right! Three dollars and forty nine cents.  This wine was vinted and bottled at Bay Bridge Vineyards in Livermore, California. It is from the year 2023, and needs no time in a cellar, as well as being massed produced. The alcohol level for this wine is 6.5% ABV. Store Review : At Bay Bridge Vineyards, we carefully select grapes from some

Wine Tasting: Soupcon de Fruit

Wine Tasting: Soupcon de Fruit April 9, 2023 By: Lucy Becker No way, Rosé! That is right! Today, we have a lovely rosé d’anjou wine for wine tasting! This 2021 Soupcon de Fruit rosé d’anjou wine originates from Le Chateau, France. I have had very few rosés in my life, all of which were very dry and tart. However, they are usually very light, fruity, and crisp. While I was shopping for wine, I noticed this bottle on display, and boy oh boy did it catch my eye. The way the light hit the body of the bottle, I knew it was coming home with me.  I bought this bottle at a local wine shop called Total Wine in Gainesville, Virginia while I was home for the holidays. It was $16.99 for a 750mL bottle of wine. Total Wine Review: A beautiful light pink, you will find this wine to be very fruity on the nose, with hints of red berries and pear. On the finish you experience a round and fresh rose with delicious lingering aromas. Self Review: This light bodied wine has a fruity taste to begin with. I

Wine Tasting: 19 Crimes Cali Red April 9, 2023 By: Lucy Becker “Now, let me tell you what’s crackalackin ‘fore I proceed.” -Snoop Dogg Are y’all Snoop Dogg fans? I know I am. I know my mom is (she has 20 of the collectable corks at home with Snoops head on it). Imagine if he made wine just as epic as his other hobbies. Well, you guessed it! He did! Let me introduce you to Snoop Dogg’s 19 Crimes Cali Red wine 2020.  19 Crimes is the brand of Australian entrepreneur Chris Fetten, who was inspired to create the company after visiting a winery in California. He was struck by the idea of telling the stories of America’s convicted felons through wine, and 19 Crimes was born.  Some of the criminals featured on the wine bottles include Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, Pablo Escobar and Snoop Dogg. 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Red Wine is a full and dense California red wine blend with strong black & blue fruit notes up front from the Petite Sirah, complemented by bright red, slightly candied frui

Wine and Dinner Blog April 9, 2016 By: Lucy Becker Happy Easter, for those of you who celebrate this holiday! I was so excited to travel home for the holiday weekend the other day, and fortunately for me, my family does immediate family dinners (which is myself, two sisters, mom, and dad) and extended family dinners on different days. So what a better time to do a wine and dinner blog!  One fun fact about my family is that we go all out when it comes to holiday dinners. We have several appetizers, several main dishes, several sides, and several desserts. I am excited to share with you two of my family favorite dishes that are authentically passed from generation to generation. To start off, let me introduce the wine varieties for the night. Chardonnay Pinot Noir Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Muirwood - Chardonnay (2021) $14.99  Arroyo Seco, Monterey Total Wine Review: "Crisp aromas of lime peel and pear flesh are lively on the nose of this bottling. There's a firm tightness to the

Wine Tasting: Josh Wine

Wine Tasting: Josh April 2, 2023 By: Lucy Becker It is time to sip back and relax. After a long day at work, I decided to sit down and drink some wine and figured I would blog about it. What wine? Josh! I know, it is an interesting name of wine. As previously mentioned and pointed out in Professor Boyers lecture video about labeling of wine, Josh is written fully across it, this brand stands out. Fun fact! My mother's favorite wine is actually and Josh related. Not sure why, maybe it is because the marketing of the label and bottle that stands out and is visually appealing. Or...maybe it is very delicious in her taste.  Josh Wine is harvested and produced by Josh Cellars in Hopland, California in the United States of America. It is blended and bottled by Joseph Carr who created his wines in honor of his father, Josh, hence the big cursive font on the front label.  The bottle I bought was 2020 vintage year and costed about $11 at the local grocery store.  This specific bottle is Cab

Wine Cheese Pairing #3

Wine and Cheese Pairing #3 March 26, 2023 By: Lucy Becker For the wine and cheese pairing, I had over my friends Katie and Justin. Hope you enjoy a picture of my BeReal from that night. I supplied the wines, Justin brought the cheeses, and Katie brought some fruit that we also tried to eat with the wine. We attempted different methods of pairing, where we ate the cheese separately, before, and after a sip of wine. The wines we drank were: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot  Malbec Sweet Peach The cheeses we paired the wine with were: Gouda - semi hard cheese; a more mild, soft, and almost sweet taste and texture; rich, nutty, caramelly taste, often reminiscent of butterscotch; best on sandwiches or crackers Gruyère - known for its rich, creamy, salty, and nutty flavor; hard Swiss cheese Manchego - intense, zesty taste and a crumbly texture that's rich, full and slightly salty at the finish Frontera - Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot (1883) $12 (from Costco) Con hay Toro, Chile Gouda: I originally

Wine Tasting: Vintage Cellar

Wine Tasting: Vintage Cellar March 23, 2023 By: Lucy Becker For someone who has never been to a wine tasting place before, I was excited, yet nervous for this experience. I met up with a friend of a friends at Vintage Cellar located on South Main Street in Blacksburg. We got to try 5 different wines. Château De Blaignac - Bordeaux Rose (2015) $9.95 Bordeaux, France Shop Review: This Rose Bordeaux is pale pink in colour with a strawberry tinged appearance. Fantastically fresh and vibrant on the nose with aromas of strawberries and red currants, the predominantly Cabernets blend balances intensely well with the lovely clearness of red berry fruits. Very well balanced and fresh, the wine culminates in a very aromatic and lingering finish. 80% Cabernet Franc 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Merlot. Self Review: I thought it was interesting that this Bordeaux is actually a Rose. Apparently, it is not very common with a light tannin. I did think it had a crisp flavor, and enjoyed it very much. Th
